At 4am (Paris time) Sunday 31 August 1997, Diana, Princess of Wales died in hospital after being involved in a car crash which instantly killed Dodi Fayed and the driver of the car. Diana's car was being chased by photographers on motorbikes at high speeds when the crash happened in a tunnel. Investigation of the accident also brought to light that the driver of the car was more than three times over the (french) alcohol limit.

I would like to send my sincere condolences to Prince William and Prince Harry for the unexpected death of their Mother, as a member of the Royal Australian Armoured Corps and as Prince Charles is our Colonel and Chief, I feel that a part of the Corps has been lost not to mention the loss of a remarkable lady, who has been the most popular member of the Royal.

Again I would like to convey my sorrows to the Royal family on the most tragic loss of a life in this century.

Yours Faithfully

I write from Spain, concretelly Vigo-Galicia. I didn't believe the horrible notice when I watched on tv. I want to express my condolences to Brithish Nation.

It is as allways an insane act that shocks us into action. It was only a question of time before a senseless act such as this occured. Earl Spencer was right in his statement to the press. A real lady has been snatched from us. Long live Diana....VIVA DIANA
With the death of Diana the Royal Family has lost what I believe to be their greatest asset. She appeared to be a wonderful, kind, sincere woman whose bresence in this world will be saddly missed. My heart goes out to her poor children who now have to face this world without their loving mother. Although I didn't know her and had never meet her, I feel like I have lost a friend.

My family and I are deeply sadden by the news on the death of Princess Diana. My first thought is for her two sons, who lost their mother at a young age. Fom the bottom of my heart, my deepest condolence to the Royal family. We will remember her for her role as "Queen of Hearts" and all the charitable work Princess Diana had done. It is indeed a immense lost for everyone in this world.
When I woke up this morning and turned on the tv there was a special edition on both public and commercial tv of the Dutch News broadcast. I was shocked when I head of Princess Diana's death and I want to express my sympathy to the Royal family and especially her sons. Lady Diana was respected and admired in The Netherlands also and I feel her passing away as a great loss. The world is left with one person less to look up to and admire.

As I watched the news of your death, I realized that I was contributing to the cycle that caused it. Before you died, I wanted to know you. I thought you had such a nice life, and I enjoyed watching how you lived.

Please forgive me, I was wrong

Its not for me to know how your life was, that was something for you... not me. I was selfish. I watched, I listened, I picked up the magazine off the shelf that had your picture...... I wanted to know.....

But I was wrong

Your life had great meaning to me, your happiness was important to me. Please believe me, I never wanted you to suffer.

I will miss you

Yet, as everyone became interested in your life, it increased whatever pain you experienced.I am sorry, I did not understand, until I saw the news, about your death, how badly we had treated you.

We were wrong

Because you were beautiful, gracious and kind, everybody wanted to know you more. In every way, you set examples for those around you. We didn't listen. Even in pain, you were concerned for others

Please forgive us

You made a difference, for the time you were here, you went beyond what could humanly be done, and did it, and you continued to reach, and go beyond what anyone else could do, to help anyone in need. I'm glad you were here

Please forgive us.....

Hello

This marks the most tragic day in my life. The Princess was in my country (south africa ) a few months ago. It is most unfortunate that such a life would end in a most violent and horrific manner, paticularly since She had finally achieved true happiness.

My family and I feel very deeply for Princes William and Harry, and convey our sincere condolences to them. Her sons have lost a mother most of all, and to honour her in the best way we can, nothing short of a full State funeral is appropriate and befitting this QUEEN OF HEARTS.

From the EBRAHIM family in South Africa

May Your Soul Rest in Everlasting Peace Under The Shade of ALLAH

Diana, You are the British Evita. We will miss you although we were pains to you, never will someone be so missed. You were and still are loved by everyone. Be thinking of you always, Diana-are British Evita. Yours always,
a well wisher.
We are all very sad that Princess Di has passed away. I was Very shocked and so were all my family. It was terrible that they took the two young princes to church this morning in front of all the photographers. They should have been left at home to greive on their own. It was a horrible tragedy!
From Jen and Kel Hopkins
we are deeply shocked and stunned at the awful news and hope that the princess has found peace. Our thoughts and prayers are with all the families involved in this terrible tragedy, especially the two princes.
I am chocked about the tragic death of Princess Diana today. Our prairs goes to Princess Dianas family, especially their two sons Prince William and Prince Harry. The whole world are stunned, its unbelievable. She brought light into our lifes. We should all pay tribute to her good work for charity, she helped people that suffered and gave them hope for the future. She was a warm person concerned about people, she gave her love to them. She was one of the best ambassadors that Britain could have. And we feel angry inside of us, we know how the media have been following every footstep of her life. They even chased her into her death. They should all feel a bit responsible for Princess Dianas death. Now there will be no more headlines about the Princess in tabloids, finally she can rest in Peace.

Hi Geraldine,

Just following your request to sent a sympathy mesage about the dead of Princess Diane. It is just beyond belief that in the end a person like Princess Diane, who already suffered great stress bythe media (lawfull or unlawfull), had to find her end by the same people who have been harrassing over the last 15 years.

We sent our sympathy to the family, esspecially the boys.

I just hope that the general public will stop buying all the trash papers who are publishing what these paparazzies are selling.

I fell a sense of sadness when I heard the news of her death this afternoon. She has been a great impact to my life eversince.

From Singapore, all of us like to sent our condolance to the Princess family. We pray that from now on she will rest in peace.

Keep us update with her latest news.

In common with millions of others around the world, I feel a great sense of loss and outrage at Princess Diana's untimely death, which is directly attributable to the papparazzi and their paymasters.

All I wish to say is that all the pious indignation of the politicians, with their impotent threats of action to curb the excesses of the media, will of course come to nothing, and we will have lost one of the great people of our time to greed.

The only way that the tabloids can be made to PAY for their irresponsibility is for every person genuinely outraged by this tragedy TO BOYCOTT THE PRESS BY NOT BUYING A SINGLE NEWSPAPER FOR THE FORESEEABLE FUTURE!

Rather the money that would have been spent on the purchase of a newspaper, could be better spent on a CONTRIBUTION to one of the many CHARITIES that Diana so enthusiastically supported.

I do not have the resources or capability to further this call, but hopefully others may pick it up and disseminate it, so that a real expression of the common people's disgust can be made in a positive way.

It is with extreme sorrow that I learned of the untimely death of Diana, Princess of Wales. Her life was a reflection of a person dedicated to the underprivileged; the infirmed; the needy; as well as to the millions of loyal subjects of Her Majesty The Queen. I live in Honolulu, Hawaii, and have had several occasions to be with Diana, Princess of Wales, and must say from the depths of my heart, that she will be truly missed.

Should the press releases prove true, that this accident was possibly the result of photographers in pursuit of her motor car, it is a further indication of the immediate need to bring forward legislation that can prevent this type of tragedy from ever occuring again.

My prayer are with Their Royal Highnesses, The Prince William and The Prince Harry, as well as with the members of the Spencer Family and the entire Royal Family.

I am deeply sorry to hear about the accident this morning . Ive been watching Sky news all morning. Today a light has gone out in what can be a dark world. You did so much for so many people that others would not or could not do and for that you will be sadly missed by many around the world. Our thoughts go out to your sons who will miss a very special mum, and to your own family who will mourn the loss of a special daughter and sister.

She will never die in our hearts and we hope her sons remember she not like a Princess of British, she most be recorder like the great mother she was. Today all the world cries and pray for the lost of a beautifull person, Lady Di.

It absolutely breaks my heart to know the Princess is dead! I remember waking up very early to watch her wedding on TV; I was facinated with her. I guess I still am. How will her sons cope!
I am mailing you as I am sure many others are doing, to contribute to your 'Diana Memorial Page'. I would just like to say that I give my deepest sympathy to her family, friends and her two beautiful sons, William and Harry. It is a great shame that the world should lose such a kind, caring person as she was. I was dreadfully shocked at the news this morning that such a remarkable woman had died. The heart-breaking thing is that she had only just found happiness in a loving relationship which worked both ways. All that is left to say at the end of this letter is that I hope the unofficial press have fianally learn their extremely painful lesson and will learn to let the Monarchy live as normal a life as possible.

Yours Sincerly,

I would like to to send my sincere condolences to Prince William and Prince Harry, the Royal Family and also to the near family of Princess Diana. Also i want to express my feelings to the people in the U.K., who have to live without a very beautiful and warm person such as the Princess was. I hope this is a lesson for the papperazzi press to leave all the royal families in the world alone and let them have their privacy.

I don't have much to say...Actually, I don't know what to say. I was shocked by the news. I still don't believe that such an innocent, peaceful woman as the princess is dead. She did so much good for the world; it's not fair that she had to die. The mother of the future king of England is dead. God bless her soul, and her family. She had just started to rebuild her life. Well, I hope the Paparazzi are happy- They've finally got a front page story.
My family extends heartfelt condolences to Prince William and Harry for the untimely death of your beloved Mother, Diana, Princess of Wales.

I wish to express my anguish and pain at Diana's death. I feel very angry at the thought that people, albeit famous, ones find it impossible to have private moments because of horrible media intrusion. She had a tragic life and never seemed to be happy until now....

Americans love Diana, Princess of Wales. Contributors to this forum should know that our televison networks, especially ABC, have had non-stop coverage of the accident, and how our dear friends in the UK are reacting to this very bad news. I commend the great work by the BBC, as carried by ABC, as we all share our sorrow. My peronal thoughts go to her children and their tough days ahead. I hope our President plans to attend any forml ceremony planned by the Royal Family. --Bob Giles, Huntington Woods, MI, USA
What does one say when such a wonderful human being is taken from us. Taken from us by the senseless greed of photographers. The world has lost the most loved human being on this earth. Her special touch to the hearts and lives of the world will never be forgotten.

My heart goes out to Harry and William. Two young boys now face the future without their mother. A mother who gave them life, who raised them with an abundance of love, the same love she gave to everyone she came in contact with.

To Harry and William, Diana's Family, Dodi's Family, the Royal Family, my prayers are with you.

With heartfelt sympathy to the Royal Family from mine. When I have heard the news that Dodi had been killed instantaneously I thought oh my god what about Diana the next minute I heard Diana was in grave condition. I then thought oh my god what if she dies? About a half an hour later I heard on CNN she had succomed her injuries.

I do feel bad mainly for her two children Prince Harry and Prince William. It must be very diffcult to learn about your mother's death at such a young age. I hope these two boys will finally get over to grief sometime soon.

I am shocked and saddened by the tragic death of Lady Diana. I met her when I was a young girl, in a British boarding school across from Higrove. She was always an inspiration to me.
