We are a family of expats living in Texas and I think we speak for all loyal expats in expressing our shock and dismay at the terrible loss of OUR beloved PRINCESS
We are stunned and deeply upset. We shall alwayys love you DIANA
I am very saddened by the tragedy of Princess Diana.. It is a shame that this happened. I worry about William and Harry.. They had such a caring and beautiful mother that just wanted to be happy and do things in the world that made a difference.. WHY could people just not leave her alone?? I am just an ordinary person, no one special, but Diana had made an impact on my life that I will never forget.

Diana, you will rest in eternal peace. You will sadly be missed..

I would like to send my sympathies to the people and family members closest to Princess Diana. This is a tragic loss, not only first and foremost to them, but to the entire world that considered The Princess to be an icon, not of fame, but how she turned her thrust into fame towards causes that she cared most deeply for. The world has truely lost one of it's most generous person.
Sincerely,

Lovely Princess Diana

Princess Diana was a remarkable woman who spread her love around the world to bring joy to injured and abandoned children. She lived through good times and bad times with the power to survive. This sad day, the world sends her our loveand reguards. For she will live dearly in our hearts forever.

-Jasmine M. Frye, Vancouver,Washington United States

My family and I are greatly saddened by the death of the Princess. We send our condolences to the family, especially her children. I regret that my daughter (who is 4 mos. old) will not have the opportunity to know the Princess Diana as the female role model that she was, but she will only know of her as a legend-- A legend that will live on forever!

We stayed up all night hoping against hope that the reports that you had left us was untrue. When the news confirmed that you had indeed died it broke our hearts here in the United States. We will never find another like you. God Bless our Queen of Hearts our prayers are with you and your family.

My deepest sorrows go out to Diana's sons. Nothing could be so tragic as losing a mother, it will be difficult to grieve with the eyes of the world watching.

My girlfriend and I are saddened by this great loss to the United Kingdom and the world. A bright star that blazed around the world blessing all by her touch and compassion is gone. Such people are few and far between. Our hearts go out to Prince William and Prince Harry and everyone who was close to Princess Diana.

Four years ago, my mother was confined to a nursing home with cancer that kept her bedridden. I wrote to the Princess because my mother doted on her, and explained how grim things looked for my mother.

Two weeks and two days later, I was on the phone with Mom when a package from the UK came. As she opened it to find an encouraging personal note and an autographed photo, my mother burst into tears, saying "This is the great thrill of my life". It was the last joy she had before her last painful few weeks on earth.

That day, Diana stopped being only a celebrity beloved to my mother. She became in some way my friend--because she responded to my plea for her help at a time in her own life that was far too tumultuous.

I have lost my mother, brother and some close friends--to disease or accidents. One would expect it to be harder to grieve deeply for a remote famous figure now--but I find myself crying over and over since I heard the news last night.

Whatever the controversies surrounding her, I know first hand that Diana cared. That's allI'll ever need to know again.

I am saddened by this tragic news of Princess Diana's death. It was as unfortunate and needless situation due to the Papparazzi's obsession of getting pictures of her and her Boyfriend. Not only were they killed but an innocent victim was too. I am appalled at the presses actions and ignorance for someone's else's life.
My heart goes out to the families and to William and Harry, May your mom rest in peace and may your lives go on in the way your mom would want it too. I am sorry for this tragedy, the world will miss such a wonderful woman who has changed a lot of lives over the past 16 years. We will all miss you!

My sincerest sympathies,

Maybe now the Princess can find peace in the arms of her father, the late Lord Spencer. We will miss you !! Our prayers go out to the families of those involved in this terrible accident.

I am deeply saddened by the loss of the Princess of Wales. I am a 26 year old woman and Diana inspired me the way only a princess can. She was the epitome of grace, elegance and beauty, some how the world will be even more jaded without her. We could still see the goodness of the human spirit in this amazing woman, now that the greed of the human spirit has taken her from us- where are we left? Let's hope her sons can carry on her beautiful legacy, all my condolences to William and Harry,

As an American of English descent,I have long followed the moves of the Royal Family.I was very deeply shocked to learn of the untimely and unnecessary death of Princess Diana. I was horrified at the method of death, and immediatly though of her 2 sons and how this will impact their continued upbringing.
I honestly think that the "papparazzi" that were present and responible should be held accountable in the manner of her death and criminal negligence charges should be filed against those responsible.
Since I returned home from work @ 2AM EST,I've listed to BBC Radio 5 Live on BBC website, and am very grateful for the continued broadcasts to the interested people in the USA who would not normally receive these broadcasts. Again,my heartfelt condolences go to The Royal Family and the British People who are now bereft of their brightest and most vocal proponant of everyday issues.

our deepest sympathy goes out to the families and friends all affected by the tragic death of diana spencer. a woman of valor, courage, and compassion. a woman of great love for "all equals" around this great wide world. a woman who not only extended her hands to those in deep despair, but also a woman who extended her heart with honesty and gracefulness. a woman who is certainly a "role model" for all to follow within their lifetimes. a woman who reminds us all about the true definition of why we are here on this earth, to serve and to give to each other, from the deepest area of our hearts. may her soul rest in peace as she flys with the angels. much compassion and support are sent to her two sons, and all family members.

Princess Diana has touched the hearts of the multitudes, an inspiration to all during her life, and now that she has transcended to a life that we cannot know yet, she will continue to inspire us for a very long time.

A Champion of worth-while causes, even her death will serve to bring about a worthy result in time: a higher repect of people for people.

SHE WAS AND IS ... A LIGHT UNTO THE WORLD. She will be remembered with honor and love always. Let her memory remind us all, to be the best we can be.

A.Dodge Smith, Glendora, Calif. USA

I am angry. Queen Elizabeth has not ordered the flags to be flown at half staff??? In the dispute with Charles I could understand her taking her sons part. But To not honor her Grandsons mother and a good person too with that privelege, is intolerable. As a US citizen I used to respect Elizabeth. No more!!!!
Dear William and Harry: My sincere condolences on the death of your dear mother. I hope in time you will move beyond anger and sadness and remember your mothers great example of love, compassion and affection. Following her example would be her greatest legacy. Please know the world shares in your sorrow.

I was shocked and devastated to learn of the death of Princess Diana. Her contributions were so significant, her presence so much a part of us, its difficult to find words worthy of her legacy.

To the people of Great Britain, please know the thoughts and prayers of the American people are with you.

The world has lost a great lady today. Princess Diana's love for people and their well being will long be remembered. God bless her sons and family as well as those who died in this terrible crash. I pray she rest in peace, as she could not have peace in this world. May those responsible be dealt with harshly, so nothing like this ever happens again. God Bless you Diana.
For sixteen years she has been the most famous person on the planet. But she was more than just a star. She was an icon, a figurehead for HUMANITY. Only Muhammad Ali has touched anywhere near as many hearts as her. The sun has set on her life. May her new dawn be serene.

What an unbelievable tragedy! How terribly sad that such a beautiful person should die so young. My heart breaks for young William and Harry. To Diana's family, and the entire British nation, the world will never forget this remarkable woman.
It would seem that history repeats itself. We have lost yet another Princess. This however is inexcusable. When will we learn that if we truly love someone, we should let them be. Allow them to live the life they deserve. Let this be Princess Diana's final act of goodwill and learn from it. All those people hounded by paprazzi are real. They are human and they need there privacy. Are we satisfied now that we can say we "loved her to death" or would we have preferred to know that two young boys still had their mother and the world still had a princess. Let this be an example...THINK ABOUT IT. My heart goes out to the Princess's sons and to everyone else who loved her. And to those who "drove" her to her death, live with your memory. Michael Cameron 555 Sheppard Ave. West, North York, Ontario
My condolences to the young Princes, William and Harry, to the Spencer family, and to Britain and my people, the English, on the untimely demise of Princess Diana. Her sudden death is on the same scale as the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. Everyone will remember where they were and what they were doing when they heard the news. Diana had just found the happiness and the love she so richly deserved and it was taken from her so quickly. She was not only the brightest star in the constellation of humanity but actually the sun whose rays bathed us all in warmth, caring, and love. I miss you, Diana, and I love you! I hope that you finally have the peace, happiness, and the love you so richly deserved and sought.

I miss you and always will. I love you! The world is a better and more beautiful place for having known Princess Diana.

Sincerely,

Joan

I feel deeply sad about the death of Princess Diana, I especially feel very bad about her sons because they are the ones who will suffer the most, probably her accident should be more investigated , this is bizarre, and it sounds to me very strange. Anyways, this is our greatest lost , she was the best and noboby will be able to replace her.

I am greatly saddened by the news of Dianas death. My thoughts, and I hope those of the nation, are with William, Harry, Prince Charles and also the families of Dodi Fayed and his chaufer.

Richard and family.

I am very saddened by the passing of Princess Diana. My heart especially goes out to Princes Harry and William. I also have 2 teenage boys and am saddened at the thought of them being without their mother. I have followed the life of Princess Diana, and I am appalled at the thought of her death being caused by the paparazzi. She has asked and begged on numerous occasion's to be "LEFT ALONE" by these people. I hope they can somehow be held accountable for what "THEY" have done. (If anything, they now have to live with the fact that they did this, and I hope it eats at them enough that they will have a hard time living with themselves.) My prayers are with Princess Diana in heaven, and especially her children and family. You surely will be missed "Princess Di" you were a wonderful person.

May the good that Diana has spread be carried on.

I couldn't believe the news. "Princess Di Dead", I thought it was a joke for a second. It's horrible that someone so special like Princess Diana has lost her life to a paparazzi. There will be no one like her... Our prayers are to Prince William and Harry.

My heart cries for the loss of such a generous humanitarian. May we all follow her lead and continue to support Princess Diana's efforts to end the suffering of those with AIDS, victims of landmines, breast cancer and the children. By supporting these causes we can keep Princess Diana's light and strength alive and, perhaps make her visions for a better world a reality!

May her children Princes William and Harry carry on in her example and style in the future.

My deepest condolences to all the families, especially to the young Prince William and Prince Harry. Your mother's glow will continue to warm our hearts for many many years.

Here is a poem written by my 13 year daughter
A CHILDS NIGHTMARE

She's gone with injurys
Her family mourns while her children sleep.
Her children wake to see the day, hoping to see thier mother.
While thier plans decay,
Here comes Prince Charles with something to say
For your mother has died on this very day
So her sons mourn with the family ,
Hoping it was a dream and not reality

Sadly missed we love you , Erin from British Columbia, Canada

So very sorry to hear such devastating news. We must carry forth all the good that The Princess of Wales so vibrantly stood for... charity, kindness, privacy, sound ethics and values. Look for a moral to this horrible event?... try to prevent such a "mind boggling" event in the future?... DRIVE SAFE and be kind so we can all live to see another day........................

I wish to send my condolences to the Royal family and the families of all those killed in that terrible Paris accident.

Profundamente impresionado por la prdida de la Princesa DIANA, mi ms sincero psame a la Familia Real Inglesa y a todo el PUEBLO BRITANICO
To be able to put in words how I feel about this senseless tragedy is beyond me. The world has lost an example of an ideal that is sorely needed both to the sons of Princess Diana, Prince William, Prince Harry and to to the rest of us.

There is a sense of emptiness that can't be filled. This sense is felt by many, of that I am sure.

For the sons of this true Lady it is a particularly heavy loss as Princess Diana was a guiding light that would have guided and nurtured them through troubled times such as they have already gone. She has however left them with the memories of her gentle humanitarian approach to life coupled with bubbling spontaneous laughter and fun, a legacy of love and commitment that only Diana could give.

Our condolences to the the sons, mother, sisters and brother of this very remarkable woman. Guelph, Ontario, Canada.

Mary Anne Britnell and daughter Dawna.
