HM Queen Elizabeth II will celebrate the 50th anniversary of her accession to the throne on 6 February 2002. Most actual celebrations will take place later on in the year though. On this page I will list which events will take place when, as and when I find out about them.
This is an 'unofficial' site where you will find news about the jubilee from many different sources. The official site can be found on: http://www.goldenjubilee.gov.uk/
The Jubilee celebrations are well under way now, with the June Jubilee weekend just past us. The news stories below have focused mainly on the preparations for the Jubilee and the Jubilee weekend itself. This page would become way too long if I would list each and every story related to the Jubilee, so I hope you'll understand the reason for the shorter version!

Jubilee Charities
Rather than creating a special charity for the jubilee, the Queen has nominated 5 charities of which she is patron: Barnardo's; CRUSE Bereavement Services; I CAN (national education charity of children with speech and language difficulties); the Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution; and the Soldiers, Sailors and Air Force Association.
